Becoming a Massage Therapist has been a 15 year dream for me. After spending many years working in photography and in customer service, I felt something was missing from my life. I wanted to have a career that could directly affect people. I constantly crossed paths with people in chronic pain, and injury. I wanted to do more than direct them to the pain relief section of the grocery store.
I also experienced an injury while briefly working in food service. I found that with massage and trigger point therapy, my injury diminished, and I was healed. Shortly after that, I enrolled in massage school. I graduated in 2015 from Onondaga School of Therapeutic Massage. It was life changing. I would encourage anyone thinking of going to Massage school to consider OSTM. I am also very grateful to my family, for their constant support.
My training included, Swedish, introduction to Shiatsu, Energy Work, Pregnancy Massage, chair massage, trigger point work, injury treatment and deep tissue massage. I include many of these techniques in my massage to meet the needs of my clients. I also took extensive courses in: Anantomy and Physiology, Myology, Osteology and Pathology.
I am looking forward to expanding my knowledge and offering new services, and advancing my skills by taking continueing education courses.
For me, the best part of massage is when a client comes in limping and leaves skipping...
